My child went into year 4 in September and has been struggling of late. However, the support my child has received from the class teacher has been nothing short of exceptional. The teacher has gone above and beyond to help my child and ensure that my child's individual needs have been met both academically and socially. The teacher has taken the time to understand my child and has implemented various initiatives to keep my child's focus, also to encourage and inspire. The communication between teacher and parent has been excellent. I would wholeheartedly recommend this school to another parent.
The Head Teacher has introduced a new initiative for behaviour management. If children have to miss playtime due to not following school rules or poor behaviour, they are sent to a supervised teacher's classroom where they are to complete a 'reflection sheet'. They are asked to write about why they are missing playtime, what they could have done to avoid it and what they need to do in the future. Completed sheets are sent home to inform parents and enable them to address any issues. This new initiative is a great idea as it provides the child the opportunity to reflect on their behaviour and encourages them to think about how they can improve.
