The school was once described to me as a ‘jazz hands’ school, however, Heath Mount offers so much more—it truly provides an all-round experience. The sports facilities are remarkable considering the size of both the school and its campus. The addition of the performing arts centre is an absolute gem, hosting major productions, music recitals, assemblies, and the ever-popular annual quiz night. On the academic front, while Heath Mount delivers a solid education, there is room for improvement especially later years KS3. I believe the school could aspire to place more pupils in elite institutions, as it certainly has the credentials and potential to do so. With continued focus and ambition, Heath Mount is well-positioned to become a feeder to top-tier schools in the future.

The headteacher at Heath Mount is truly exceptional; he knows every pupil by name, fostering a sense of belonging and mutual respect throughout the school community. This personal approach not only earns the admiration of the children but also ensures that they genuinely like him, contributing to the school’s warm and welcoming atmosphere.
Heath Mount’s sports department is another standout feature. Despite the school’s modest size, students achieve impressive results in netball and rugby, regularly participating in highly regarded tournaments. This commitment to sporting excellence enriches school life and provides ample opportunities for pupils to develop teamwork and competitive spirit.
Do you have any helpful suggestions for improvement?
To further enhance the school's offering. It would be beneficial for the school to place greater emphasis on achieving strong national results, particularly in science, where performance has been consistently below expectations over the years. Additionally, more targeted support for KS3 pupils preparing to transition to senior school would be valuable, especially as some children choose to leave at the end of Year 6 rather than Year 8. The beautiful listed building restricts expansion and over recent years class sizes have crept up.
On a personal note, I feel the school should avoid employing too many staff members who are related, as this can sometimes leave parents feeling outnumbered or uncomfortable.
